Sovereignty, Sin, and Salvation

Sovereignty, Sin, and Salvation

Sovereignty, Sin & Salvation

Genesis 1-11

The first 11 chapters of the book of Genesis set the stage for the themes to come in the rest of Scripture. God created the world with a plan for it to flourish under the rule of his image-bearers, humans. These humans were to reflect God’s character and represent his rule and assist in creating order and beauty. Sin entered the world when these image-bearers seized autonomy for themselves instead of trusting that God’s plan for them was for their best.

Through the stories and characters of Genesis 1-11, God seeks to redeem his people in spite of their sinfulness. There are seeds of a future hope of salvation. God is determined to bless and rescue his world.

Join us this fall as we dig into this book and explore God’s sovereignty, the impact of sin and the hope for salvation. We meet in person and online on Sunday mornings at 10:15 AM. Learn more about what a Sunday is like at Glencairn Church or send us a message if you have any questions.
