At first glance this may seem like a strange prayer to ask God to not lead us into temptation. In truth, God will never tempt us, or invite us to fail (James 1:13). The promise in this prayer begins to emerge, as we realize God leads us like a shepherd (Psalm 23). He will come along side us and carry us through no matter what trial or tempation we face.
